Everything you need to know to start using IPComms VoIP services.

Welcome to IPComms!

Your account is ready. This guide will help you configure your devices and start making calls in minutes.

1. Account Setup

When you signed up for IPComms, we automatically created your account with:

  • Your SIP Domain - A unique domain for your account (e.g., abc1234.s1.ipcomms.net)
  • Extensions - Phone lines for your team members
  • Phone Numbers (DIDs) - Your inbound phone numbers

2. Your SIP Credentials

To configure any phone or softphone, you'll need these settings from your Customer Portal:

SIP Server / Domain [your-subdomain].s1.ipcomms.net
Username [extension number] (e.g., 100, 101)
Password Found in your portal under Extensions
SIP Port (Standard) 5060 (UDP)
SIP Port (Secure/TLS) 5061 (TCP/TLS)
Transport UDP, TCP, or TLS

Where to find your credentials: Log in to portal.ipcomms.net, go to PBX → Extensions, and click on an extension to view its SIP credentials.

4. Making Calls

Once your device is registered, you can make calls using E.164 format:

5. Adding Usage Credit

IPComms uses a prepaid balance for call charges. To add credit:

  1. Log in to portal.ipcomms.net
  2. Go to Billing → Add Credit
  3. Select an amount or enter a custom amount
  4. Complete the payment

Your balance is shown in the dashboard and header. You can also enable Auto-Recharge to automatically add credit when your balance falls below a threshold.

Now that you're set up, explore these features in your portal:

  • Call Routing - Configure where your phone numbers ring
  • Voicemail - Set up voicemail-to-email
  • IVR / Auto-Attendant - Create a phone menu for callers
  • Ring Groups - Ring multiple extensions simultaneously
  • Call History - View detailed call records
