Welcome to IPComms! This guide will walk you through setting up your account and making your first call.

Create Your Account

Start by signing up for an IPComms account. You'll need:

  • Your business name and contact information
  • Service address (for E911)
  • Payment method (credit card)

SIP Trunking

Connect your existing PBX (FreePBX, 3CX, etc.) to our network.

Get Phone Numbers

Order new phone numbers or port your existing numbers:

  • New Numbers: Search by area code or city and activate instantly
  • Port Existing: Keep your current numbers (7-10 business days)
  • Toll-Free: 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844 numbers available

Pricing: Local numbers from $1.50/mo, Toll-free from $3.00/mo

Configure Your System

Set up your phone system based on your service type:

For SIP Trunking:

  1. Get your SIP credentials from the customer portal
  2. Configure your PBX with our SIP server settings
  3. Set up outbound routes for your DIDs
  4. Test calls to verify connectivity

For Hosted PBX:

  1. Create extensions for your users
  2. Configure voicemail and call forwarding
  3. Set up auto-attendant (IVR) if needed
  4. Register IP phones or softphones

Register E911 Locations

Important: You must register a physical address for each phone number to enable 911 emergency services.

  • Go to Phone Numbers in your portal
  • Click on each number and enter the E911 address
  • Verify the address is correct (used by emergency services)
  • Update when location changes

Troubleshooting Tips

  • No audio? Check firewall rules for RTP ports 10000-20000
  • One-way audio? Verify NAT settings in your PBX
  • Registration failures? Double-check username/password
  • Call quality issues? Ensure adequate bandwidth and QoS
